smart, independent SoCal gal seeks real connection

I'm a happily unathletic SoCal gal into morose indie pop music from the '80s & '90s; crime fiction; sci-fi; historical fantasy and Victorian lit (particularly tales of young girls, down on their luck in Victorian England, who must resort to pickpocketing, prostitution or other vices to make their way in the world). I'm educated, independent and smart, and looking for my match. I work in education as a high school counselor. I'm dedicated to my career and have spent the past several years working on getting myself where I want to be. I have student loans to show for it, and a fairly non-existent social life, which brings me here.
